Welcome to Boutique Hotel
La Paulowna.

After extensive renovations, we have transformed a former office building into its early 20th century splendour. The five fully renovated comfortable suites in our hotel feature all mod cons and have a private bathroom. The friendly service of our staff is unfailing.

La Paulowna offers you more than a bed and breakfast; it’s your home away from home!

Our elegant location on one of The Hague’s favourite squares in the bustling Mesdagkwartier, is only a stone’s throw away from the Vredespaleis (Peace Palace), a stroll away from the city centre, Scheveningen and its beaches and the palatial buildings of the Embassy district; central yet quiet, with ample parking space. There are many museums in the immediate vicinity: the Panorama Mesdag, the Museum for Communication, the Mauritshuis, Gemeentemuseum and there is Noordeinde with its many galleries. In the midst of these attractions is our Boutique Hotel where tourists and locals meet and thanks to the central location, you can spend the day at your leisure enjoying local and Dutch culture!

We are looking forward to welcoming you soon!

A tidbit about the Anna Paulownaplein

The square is named after Anna Pavlovna (1795-1865), Grand Duchess of Russia. In 1816 she married Crown Prince William II; at his enthronement in 1840 Anna Pavlovna became Queen of the Netherlands.

Anna Paulownaplein and surrounding area were built around 1870. In this so-called ‘Anna Pavlovnapark’ mostly stately, spacious homes were built for the well-to-do. Especially doctors and banks settled in this district, which around 1910 was considered one of the most beautiful spots of the Hague. Today, you will also find many shops in Anna Paulownastraat and Anna Paulownaplein.
