About us

We, owners Anuschka en Wim lived in the Anna Paulowna street opposite the beautiful building that was to become our hotel. We fell instantly in love with the Anna Paulownaplein: the perfect location to relax after a busy working week. The square charms at all hours of the day: breakfast, coffee, lunch or dinner and friends often stop by to share the joy.

After our daughter Mila (2011) was born we discovered the Palace Garden, a lovey place to relax; you can be on the beach in 10 minutes by tram / bus, the city center and all the city’s sights are easily accessible.

Anuschka has been a fashion buyer for 16 years, traveled to Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, Mauritius, New York, Hong Kong, China, India, Bangladesh and stayed there in large-scale luxury hotels. But she felt a need for small-scale personal and domestic hotels.

Wim was an independent entrepreneur as an interior builder. He makes all types of custom furniture and kitchens with passion. He loves pure natural materials and has an eye for details.

In Bruges, Wim’s brother John has B&B ‘Huis het Schaep’ and sister Sandra owns The Town House. The preference for gastronomy, hotel industry and hospitality runs in the family! This triggered Wim: would we also open a B&B? The old office building at Anna Paulownaplein 3 was extremely suitable and had been vacant for 4 years. A great location for a boutique hotel. Wim started making plans and sketches.

We want to contribute to the reuse of materials. We refurbished pieces of furniture and accessories of Anuschka’s father and those we bought on vintage markets, for reuse.

After 8 months of intensive renovations, we opened our doors in May 2015.
